About me

Hi, my name is Maia.

My father immigrated to Britain from Belarus over 20 years ago, escaping the fascist autocracy that began silencing any opposition.

As a trans woman and child of an immigrant, I understand what it is like to feel the struggle of little access to healthcare, zero recognition, and no support.

Since the age of 14 I have been involved in organising groups of programmers, designers, and other professionals, as part of my self-employment as a software engineer.

I stand now at the age of 20 on the steering committee of Your Party Youth & Students - using my strong skills in media & technology to grow our membership and spread the solution to capitalism's contradictions: community organizing and mass protesting towards a socialist society.

What is to Be Done?

My work so far

I am an active member in the (currently still unofficial) youth organization of Your Party and became part of its first steering committee in late 2025, for which you can see my campaign here. I’ve helped with social media, standardized internal communication, reworked our website, and created our internal cloud. Creating an intranet for Your Party, to more easily allow for collaborative political work, free from the eyes and control of big tech, is also my goal if I were to be elected as member of the CEC.

I’ve created the (unofficial) Your Party Logo creator, using our official corporate design in order to standardize our public image from day one and allow for branches and groups to have professional looking logos without the need of being skilled in design.

I am running multiple Mastodon Servers, a decentralized social network with no ads, algorithms, surveillance, and hence no profit motive. Social networks are an important part of the lives of many young people, yet they are usually always owned by the richest corporations who could not care less about connecting people. While we should never seclude ourselves and mobilize where people listen, organizing to me means owning and controlling the platform that you communicate on. In Mastodon I see an alternative. An alternative to a Facebook which Amnesty International officially makes responsible for supporting the Myanmar genocide, an alternative to a Twitter, which before and with Elon Musk served capitalist interests which inherently means amplifying far right beliefs, and an alternative to YouTube, whose algorithms and censoring could not have aided the bourgeoisie more.
