Hardware, software, and gadgets that I love.

I sometimes get asked about the things I use to build software, stay productive, and collaborate with my teams.

Workstation

  • 13-inch Macbook Pro, M1, 16GB RAM (2020)

For the longest time I built my own computers from scratch, but after Covid broke out I decided to treat myself, and wow, it was absolutely worth it. Despite being now 3 years old this laptop doesn't even sweat with the huge workloads I push it through.

  • LG Ultrawide 34-inch monitor

I absolutely love my ultrawide display. Whenever I'm at home working I dock my Macbook to this display. It's so great to just be able to see everything on just one screen without window switching.

  • Apple Magic Keyboard

I'm a creature of habit. After working for so long on just a laptop, It's hard to go back to a non-laptop keyboard even when docked, so I love the convenience of this Apple keyboard with Touch ID.

  • Apple Magic Trackpad

Something about all the gestures makes me feel like a wizard with special powers. I really like feeling like a wizard with special powers.

Development tools

  • Jetbrains IDEs

Jetbrains' IDEs for specific languages are just fantastic. They have everything you'd possibly want to be able to speed through coding. I know a lot of people now use text-editors rather than IDEs but for me, an IDE works great.

  • TablePlus

Ever thought dealing with SQL everyday was a nightmare? Then you need this app. TablePlus has possibly saved me hundreds of hours building queries, and now even supports non-SQL databases.

  • Termius

I operate a lot of servers for various clients and companies. Termius makes it easy to have all your servers in one place, without sacrificing security or convenience.

Design

  • Adobe Creative Cloud

Hey, we may all hate Adobe but their software ain't too shabby. I find myself opening Photoshop, Illustrator, and XD multiple times a day to just whack together a concept I thought of.

Productivity

  • Fantastical

One of the best calenders I've used. If you have many mail/calender accounts like I do this is a great way to sync them all in one place while still being useful.

  • Session

This pomodoro timer is a simple way to stay focused on whatever work you're doing while still remembering to take breaks.

  • Craft

A more simplified synced text editor and task tracker. I used Craft to write down my tasks, ideas, and more in one place.

  • Notion

We use notion at my company to collaberate on documents, kanban boards, scheduling and more. It's a great all-round product.
